Hi everyone, welcome to my new Blog! I will be posting the weekly videos on Emotional Healing here and the archived videos as well. Your comments and questions are welcome. The first video that I am posting is on the topic Feel to Heal which was recorded in August 2017.
In the video I talk about how important it is to acknowledge and put words to our feelings in order to come to a place of healing.
Our feelings come from our beliefs, and our beliefs come from what we have experienced. So, if you were called stupid as a child, you come to believe that that is true about you. You may have a Ph.D. and a very intellectually demanding job, but when that belief about being stupid gets triggered (see last week’s video), you can feel inadequate and ashamed.
Many times we stay in our left brain functioning, which has to do with thinking and analyzing (staying “in our head”). This is a way to avoid our right brain function which holds the feelings (being “in our heart”).
In order to heal the negative belief (and feeling), both the right and left parts of our brain need to be in gear: Feel to Heal.
It can feel overwhelming to access the feelings from negative beliefs. That’s why it’s so important to have a safe person to talk to, to help you to put words to your feelings, to understand yourself and your experience, and to feel comforted and loved.
When the Lord says “Come to Me, all you who are weary and heavy-laden” (Matt11:28), He really means it. He wants us to come to Him real, with the honest feelings. And He wants to heal us, and give us sweet rest.
Blessings to realize that you have all the courage you need to Feel to Heal,
