I would like to talk with you about the important topic Rest and Receive. It is vital to have Resting as a top priority.
Too often we are running around trying to “do” so many things. And frequently our doing is born out of a false need to please others or to find acceptance through our performance.
But we are designed to operate from a place of rest and love, believing that we are loved by our Creator with an everlasting love that will never be taken from us.
Isaiah 30:15 says “In returning and rest you shall be saved; In quietness and confidence shall be your strength.”
In the place of Rest, where we are depending on and receiving God’s love for us, that’s where we are creative, inspired and can often see the solutions to problems that concern us.
How do we Rest? Just take some time out each day, sit and say to God “here I am” and then let His Good Spirit lead you. If your mind is going fast, taking some slow deep breaths can help to settle you.
Another excellent practice is to “relentlessly eliminate hurry from your life” because hurry and love are not compatible.
All we ever really have is now. So, gain “momentum” by being present in your moments, and resting in the realization that you are precious, lovable and beloved.
I realize this sounds somewhat trite, but it is a profound truth: When you are tired, rest! Don’t keep do-doing more and more, but take some time to nap or relax until you are feeling refreshed again.
Blessings to become highly proficient in the art of operating from a place of rest!
